Automated SEO Blog Posts for GitLab Repositories

GitLab is a first-class destination, not an afterthought. Every framework on this page works from a GitLab project: Blogger Dog connects with GitLab OAuth, commits each post through the GitLab commits API, and runs the same live-URL check.

What Blogger Dog writes

The same files as on GitHub: Markdown/MDX with frontmatter, Jekyll _posts, or a JSON / TypeScript posts entry.

Detected from
  • a gitlab.com project in namespace/project form
Typical destination
  • whatever folder or data file your framework reads (see the framework pages)

## Why builds got slow

How publishing works

  1. 01

    Connect with GitLab OAuth

Choose GitLab when connecting, authorise the app, and pick the project and branch your site deploys from (GitLab Pages, Netlify, Vercel or your own CI).

  2. 02

    One commit per post

Each post is a single commit on that branch via the GitLab commits API, so your pipeline runs exactly as it does for your own pushes.

  3. 03

    Prove it is live

Before the first scheduled post, Blogger Dog commits a temporary test post, waits for your host to rebuild, and checks that the public URL actually serves it. It then deletes the test post. Scheduled posts are checked the same way after every commit, so a post that was committed but never appeared is reported instead of silently counted as published.

Good to know

  • Projects on gitlab.com are supported. If your branch is protected against direct pushes, allow the connected account to push or choose an unprotected deploy branch.

GitLab questions

Is self-hosted GitLab supported?
Projects on gitlab.com are supported today. Connect with GitLab OAuth and give the project in namespace/project form.
What if my deploy branch is protected?
Each post is a direct commit on the branch you pick. If that branch is protected against pushes, allow the connected account to push to it or choose an unprotected branch your pipeline deploys from.
Which frameworks work from GitLab?
All of them: Next.js, Astro, Hugo, Jekyll, Gatsby and Docusaurus are published the same way as on GitHub, with the same files and the same live-URL check.
